Curriculum VitaeBiography:
Yaejin Moon (she/her/hers) joins the Department of Exercise Science in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics in Spring 2023 as a tenure-track assistant professor.
Moon’s research focuses on improving mobility and reducing fall-related injuries in people with neurological disorders and older adults. She investigates neurophysiological and biomechanical mechanisms to understand how a person walks and maintains balance. In order to translate basic research results into clinical application, she examines the effectiveness of novel interventions to improve walking function in various clinical populations. She also validates innovative technologies that help to measure movement in easy yet accurate ways.
Before joining Syracuse University, Moon was a post-doctoral research fellow at Northwestern University from 2018-2021, where she investigated the feasibility of applying a novel neuromodulation strategy (transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation) for gait recovery in persons with stroke and spinal cord injury.
