CAPS Biography:
My research contributes to both CAPS signature themes on health and well-being and family and intergenerational supports and the cross-cutting theme of specific populations. Specifically, my research investigates social determinants of health, population health, health disparities, and social networks and social support in aging populations. My research utilizes interdisciplinary approaches to examine healthy aging issues from a life course approach and a global perspective. Most of my work has focused on health disparities and physical conditions as a result of demographic changes, intergenerational relationships, environmental stressors, and traumatic events. My research is globally focused, with published and ongoing scholarly works regarding healthy aging in the United States, Europe, and China. My scholarly work has appeared in interdisciplinary fields of gerontology, sociology, psychology, and public health.
