Biography

Scott Landes is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Faculty Associate of the Aging Studies Institute at Syracuse University. He received his PhD in Sociology from the University of Florida in 2014. Informed by his interest in medical sociology, aging and the life course, and disability theory, the majority of his research focuses on health and mortality trends across the life course for those with disability and for veterans. His other research addresses intellectual disability and social theory, care worker job outcomes, and spirituality and death. His work is published in journals such as Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Social Science & Medicine, American Journal of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and Journal of Gerontology: Social Sciences.
