Gerontology Education Workshop
Public Policy Issues in Aging: June 1-5th, 2014
The Gerontology Education workshop is for college instructors and faculty who want to introduce new courses or strengthen existing courses dealing with issues in aging. It will encourage the incorporation of public policy issues into the gerontology curriculum. Participants attend presentations by leading scholars who will discuss cutting-edge research in various areas of gerontology, including demography, economics, sociology, and psychology.
The workshop is open to instructors in post-secondary institutions, including universities, liberal arts colleges, and community colleges. Applicants need not have prior experience in aging studies but must be committed to including these materials in future courses.
The SU Center for Aging and Policy Studies will cover tuition and fees for the workshop, four nights of hotel accommodations, continental breakfast, and two group dinners. Participants need to cover their own travel and all other expenses.
Questions regarding the workshop should be directed to Velita Degraft at ASI, 315-443-2703, firstname.lastname@example.org.
